Manchin Thanks Secretary Perry for Accepting His Invitation to Come to West Virginia

Secretary Perry will visit West Virginia in July 

Washington D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today thanked U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Perry for accepting his invitation to visit West Virginia in July. It will be Secretary Perry’s first official visit to West Virginia. He will join Senators Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) to visit research and development hubs across the state.

“I’m looking forward to showing our beautiful state to my good friend Secretary Perry in July,” Senator Manchin said. “On the tour, Secretary Perry will get an up close look at our cutting edge research and development hubs and the potential West Virginia has to bring about an energy infrastructure revolution. I know Secretary Perry will be our partner in this and help our state and country reach our full energy potential.”

Senator Manchin also asked Secretary Perry about the Department of Energy grid study on reliability and resiliency.  Senator Manchin will also be requesting additional information on budget proposals regarding the loan guarantee program and the consolidation of NETL as proposed by the budget.
