Manchin to Kick Off 'Commonsense Solutions' Week

Manchin will travel to 9 counties, discuss commonsense solutions to pressing challenges affecting the nation, state and families

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Tuesday will officially launch his “Commonsense Solutions” week in South Charleston, a series of events devoted to presenting commonsense solutions that will help solve some of the most pressing challenges facing West Virginia and the country.

As part of “Commonsense Solutions” week, Senator Manchin will travel across West Virginia to introduce a series of new policy proposals and solutions to problems including our nation’s fiscal crisis, high unemployment rates and substance abuse in our communities.

“These are difficult times in America, but we cannot run from challenges; we must face them head-on. After spending several months listening to West Virginians, it’s clear that now is the time to come together and create commonsense solutions that will move this nation forward,” Senator Manchin said. “Next week, I will travel to communities all across our great state, meeting with residents and local leaders to present new ideas to tackle problems small and large. When it comes to creating a better future for the next generation, I’m inspired by the fact that we did it in our state and we can do it across this great nation if we work together and adopt commonsense solutions.”
