Manchin Tours Tw Metals South Charleston Defense Industrial Supplier Base

Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) toured the TW Metals Defense Industrial Supplier in South Charleston, West Virginia. TW Metals and the West Virginia defense industrial base provides more than 2.7 million parts and raw materials for the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carrier program.

“West Virginia mined the coal that forged the steel that built the tanks and ships that made our nation the strongest in the world,”

The South Charleston TW Metals branch provides specialty nickel and stainless-steel in tube, pipe, bar, plate and sheet for the construction of multiple aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, and submarines in the current and future Navy inventory.
