Manchin Tours Wood County Senior Center, Wincore Windows to Highlight Benefits of Inflation Reduction Act
Parkersburg,
WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) visited
Parkersburg to tour the new Wood County Senior Citizens Association senior
center and Wincore Windows to highlight the benefits of the Inflation
Reduction Act for West Virginia seniors and West Virginia businesses.
Senator Manchin also visited the State Capitol yesterday for the legislative
session. Photos from the visits can be found here and here.
“Today
I visited the Wood County Senior Citizens Association senior center and Wincore
Windows to discuss the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act for West
Virginia seniors and our businesses,” said Senator Manchin. “The Inflation
Reduction Act lowers healthcare costs for hundreds of thousands of West
Virginians on Medicare by capping out of pocket medical costs, lowering the
cost of prescription drugs, capping the price of insulin to $35 a month,
extending Affordable Care Act subsidies for three years and providing
free vaccines for seniors. And the Inflation Reduction Act supported
American energy security by onshoring our supply chains and manufacturing
efforts, which is why Wincore and other facilities across the state are vital
to these efforts. The Inflation Reduction Act also grows the market for
Wincore’s products with incentives for West Virginia homeowners and businesses
to make energy efficiency improvements. The Inflation Reduction Act helps
so many West Virginians when they need it most, which is why I was proud to
support this legislation which was signed into law on August 16, 2022. I look
forward to seeing the benefits of this important bill for years to come.”
