Manchin Visits 2023 National Scout Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve
Glen Jean, WV – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) visited the 2023 National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Fayette County to welcome Scouts from across the country to West Virginia, and to thank local and state leaders for their support of Scouting.
“I am thrilled that more than 15,000 Scouts from across the country are here in West Virginia this week to enjoy our world-class Scouting facility,” said Senator Manchin. “As a former Scout myself, I am proud that West Virginia is the permanent home of the National Scout Jamboree, where Scouts learn important life skills and make memories that will last a lifetime. When I was Governor, it was an honor to work with the Boy Scouts and secure the Mountain State as the permanent home of the Jamboree. There’s no better backdrop for the Boy Scouts National Jamboree than West Virginia’s boundless blue skies, rolling hills and majestic mountains, and I am committed to supporting Scouts BSA as it continues to build our next generation of leaders.”
