Manchin Votes To Confirm Garland As Attorney General
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), voted to confirm Judge Merrick Garland as U.S. Attorney General.
“Today I voted to confirm Judge Merrick Garland as the United States Attorney General. Judge Garland is one of the most honorable, accomplished Americans who holds the rule of law, the foundation of our American ideals, above all else. Judge Garland has dedicated himself to public service, serving in the judicial system throughout his career after graduating from Harvard Law School. It is very clear that Judge Garland is incredibly qualified to take on the role of Attorney General and will restore faith in the justice system. I have complete faith in his ability to lead the Department of Justice and I know he will truly be the lawyer for all of the American people. Judge Garland is committed to reinstating disciplined leadership at the Department of Justice and will work diligently to set the tone for how justice will be delivered during the Biden Administration. I look forward to working with Judge Garland as we work to address the numerous issues facing our nation.”
