Manchin Welcomes Attendees to 8th Annual WV Identification Intelligence Expo

Senator Manchin delivered remarks at the eighth West Virginia Identification Intelligence EXPO VIII on Sunday

Washington, D.C. – As Honorary Chair of the Discover the Real West Virginia Foundation, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) welcomed representatives from identification intelligence companies and federal agencies to West Virginia for the eighth annual Identification Intelligence Expo on Sunday. This was first time this identification intelligence industry event was held in West Virginia. It was also the first time the event, held over the course of two days, incorporated a trade mission for out-of-state executives which included a tour of the I-79 technology corridor and presentations by federal, state and local agencies. The annual identification intelligence industry event provided opportunities for executives in cyber security, forensics, biometrics and big data to explore business partnerships, research synergies and investment opportunities in West Virginia.

The Expo was hosted by Discover the Real West Virginia Foundation, West Virginia Development Office, I-79 Development Council, Identification Intelligence Ridge, along with significant supporting roles from both Marshall University and West Virginia University. The event was sponsored by the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing, Azimuth, Marshall University, West Virginia University, TMC Technologies, Northrop Grumman, CSRA, Global Science & Technology, MorphoTrust USA and the High Technology Foundation.

West Virginia companies that participated in the exhibition included: Allegheny Science & Technology (AST), Azimuth, CACI International, Inc., CSRA, FBI-Biometric Center of Excellence, FBI-Next Generational Intelligence, Frontier Communications, Marshall University, MorphoTrak LLC, MorphoTrust USA, Northrop Grumman, TMC Technologies, Tygart Technology, West Virginia Robotics Alliance, and West Virginia University.
