Manchin Wishes West Virginians A Happy, Safe Independence Day
Washington,
DC – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) issued the following statement in
celebration of Independence Day.
“While
our Independence Day celebrations may be different this year, we can all safely
and responsibly celebrate the founding of our great nation, the freedoms we
enjoy, and our nation’s brave servicemembers who have fought to protect our
lives here at home and abroad. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has also put
our first responders and our health providers on the front lines of a global
health crisis that is affecting every American. This weekend while we are
celebrating America, let’s all take a moment to thank those who are dedicated
to caring for their fellow West Virginians during their time of need. I am
proud of our state and her people, today and every day as we work together
through this difficult time. I wish every West Virginian a happy Fourth of
July, and may God bless you and your families, the wild and wonderful Mountain
State, and the United States of America."
