Senate Passes Manchin Bipartisan Resolution Establishing National Warrior Call Day

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. Senate passed U.S. Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) bipartisan resolution to designate November 12, 2023, as National Warrior Call Day, which encourages Americans across the country to reach out to those who have served or are currently serving to remind them they are not alone and connect them with mental health resources if needed. Our nation’s Veterans continue to die from suicide at significantly higher rates — 57% — than those who have not served; it is the second leading cause of death for Veterans under the age of 45.

“I am proud that we came together to pass this bipartisan resolution and make an important step to better protecting those who have sacrificed so much in the service of our country,” said Senator Manchin. “West Virginia is the most patriotic state in our nation, and as a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I will continue working every day to support our brave Veterans and servicemembers who have defended our freedom.”
