Senator Manchin Announces New Chief of Staff

Washington, D.C. — Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced today the appointment of Hayden Rogers as his new chief of staff.

“Hayden will be a tremendous asset to our team and I am thrilled to have him on board,” Senator Manchin said. “From his time as a small business owner to his work in public service, Hayden brings to our office a unique range of talents and a commonsense, solutions-driven approach that I truly admire. He embodies the values important to West Virginians and has the knowledge, experience and expertise to lead our team effectively.”

Rogers was a top-tier candidate in 2012 when he ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. Prior to that, he served for more than five years as the chief of staff and top advisor to U.S. Representative Heath Shuler (D-NC). He also managed three successful campaigns for Shuler. Prior to his public service, Rogers owned a small business involved in construction, real estate management, and landscaping.

“Senator Manchin represents the values and principles that I have long admired. He is a strong voice for the state of West Virginia and its people and a prominent advocate for the changes we need to ensure a positive future for our great nation.  I am honored to have this privilege to continue my public service in the United States Senate and to join him in working for a more robust future for West Virginia and America,” said Rogers.

Rogers is a native of Robbinsville, N.C. and a graduate of Princeton University. Rogers and his wife, Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers, have two daughters, Torin (9), and Lochlan (7).
