Senator Manchin Announces State Director Departure
Manchin thanks State Director Kelley Goes for her unwavering dedication to the people of West Virginia as she leaves to pursue private sector opportunities
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today announced that his long-time State Director Kelley Goes will be leaving her position to become a member of the prestigious law firm, Jackson Kelly.
“It is difficult to imagine my Senate office without Kelley Goes, who is truly a one-of-a-kind public servant. Since my first days in the Senate, Kelley has served as my State Director, a job that made her my eyes and ears back home and my go-to person on every issue affecting the families and businesses of West Virginia. When I chose her to oversee all my Senate offices in West Virginia, Kelley had already proven her mettle, having served with great distinction in two important positions during my Governorship – as West Virginia’s Commerce Secretary and Executive Director of the West Virginia Development Office. No matter what the issue, I could always count on Kelley to see the ripple effect and to understand the impact on the lives of West Virginians.
“I am sorry that Kelley is leaving public service and my office. I will miss the energy, creativity and dedication she brought to my office. But I know she will bring the same enthusiasm, wit and commitment as she moves to the private sector. I wish Kelley the best of luck in her future endeavors, but I know that she is only a phone call away and will always be a part of the Manchin family.”
