Tomorrow: Manchin to visit Lewisburg—His choice for America’s Coolest Small Town—For Coffee and Common Sense
Charleston, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) will visit Lewisburg and White Sulphur SpringsSaturday for his third consecutive weekend of “Coffee and Common Sense” events.
Following his successful “Call for Common Sense” tour in January, Senator Manchin launched his “Coffee and Common Sense” series for more conversations to hear West Virginians’ ideas, concerns and priorities. In keeping with Senator Manchin’s philosophy of retail government, he will hold numerous “Coffee and Common Sense” events in towns across the state.
Senator Manchin is also reminding all West Virginians to cast their ballots for Lewisburg as “America’s Coolest Small Town” in the annual contest sponsored by Budget Travel magazine. Senator Manchin already encouraged all West Virginians to vote for Lewisburg in a web video available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDQyyOEfyHI. Voting ends today.
“I am looking forward to taking ‘Coffee and Common Sense’ to Lewisburg, which is definitely one of America’s best towns, and White Sulphur Springs,” Manchin said. “I already enjoyed my conversations with the people of Follansbee, Beckley and Fayetteville for ‘Coffee and Common Sense’ events, and I have no doubt that our trip this weekend will be just as helpful and productive. I believe it’s critical that we continue the dialogue we started on my ‘Call for Common Sense Tour,’ so I can hear the ideas, concerns and priorities of West Virginians all over the state. I hope the residents of Lewisburg and White Sulphur Spring will come out and join me Saturday.”
