Estimator/Project Coordinator,Eastern Vault-Princeton

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing take-offs for Storm & Sewer Utility Projects to Bid. Generate pricing on these projects using standard pricing models
  • Prepare and submit quotes to contractors in the timeline to completion, and all contacts involved.
  • Attain all needed material (ie: current plans, estimate to customer, purchase order, etc.) to execute the project.
  • Manage inventory of needed materials to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing of products.
  • Define the starting point of the project, via the customer and/or contractor, & what their expected timelines are versus what can be achieved through production scheduling.
  • Create/draw up all production take-offs from the project start point & compare it with the as bid/customer estimate prior to releasing any material for production.
  • Coordinate with the other Production Schedulers, along with the Plant Manager, Logistics Manager, and, if necessary, the Projects Coordinator to ascertain the timeline needed to complete the project obligations in an efficient manner.
  • Once the timeline of production has been established, stay in constant contact with the customer throughout the project; providing updates, delivery notifications, change orders, etc., until the project is completed.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree preferred, with 2 years of experience, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Firm understanding of site plans, ability to calculate structure elevation, distances, percent of grade, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple customer needs at once
  • A firm grasp on math, especially geometry.
  • The ability to work in a team setting and coordinate well with others.
  • Goal oriented with attention to detail and sensitive timelines.
  • Good computer skills that include how to navigate Excel, Word, and other Office programs.
  • Understand logistics; truck weights & scheduling; delivery constraints
  • AutoCAD computer aided design preferred. Ability to create drawings for all types of products to be manufactured.
