Icymi: Manchin Speaks At Shepherd University Plaque Dedication, Stubblefield Institute For Civil Political Communications Event

Charleston, WV – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) attended and spoke at Shepherd University’s plaque dedication honoring his lifetime of public service. Senator Manchin also attended and spoke at the Stubblefield Institute for Civil Political Communications event, “Beyond Pepperoni Rolls: Who Are We as West Virginians,” where he engaged with Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) in a discussion on bipartisanship and their shared West Virginian identity.

“It has been an honor to work with and advocate for the Shepherd University community for so many years,”Senator Manchin said in part. “I cannot imagine another profession where I could help as many people as I have been able to because of your support. You have given me bragging rights. First of all, to be a West Virginian, but also to represent West Virginia and tell our story. We share common values of family, freedom, democracy, dignity and a belief that we can overcome any challenge by working together.
