Manchin Announces $106k For Household Energy Consumption Research
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $106,500 from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for household energy consumption research in Harpers Ferry through tech startup Universal Schedule and Booking (USB). The project will investigate model software, perform tasks to model home efficiency results and collect data for mechanical equipment used in residential homes.
“The National Institute of Standards and Technology continues to be an important partner for the Mountain State through their investments in groundbreaking research opportunities,” said Senator Manchin. “This investment will advance our understanding of energy consumption to boost efficiency and reduce costs for households throughout West Virginia. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for resources to bolster research opportunities across the Mountain State.”
