Manchin Announces $1.6 Million to Repair Air Traffic Control Towers

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,600,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The funding will support improvements at the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport (HLG), which will include the replacement of cab windows, building repairs, and addressing water damage.

“I’m pleased that DOT is investing $1.6 million to repair the air traffic control tower at the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport,” said Senator Manchin. “West Virginia’s airports are crucial gateways to the rest of the world, and the funding announced today will boost local tourism and spur economic development. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for resources to support transportation hubs across the Mountain State.”
