Manchin Announces $3.4 Million For Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Recovery Programs In West Virginia
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $3,460,028 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for seven Investments Supporting Partnerships in Recovery Ecosystems (INSPIRE) grants across West Virginia. These investments assist individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) in transitioning from treatment programs to recovery and employment.
“The Appalachian Regional Commission continues to be a great partner for developing a ready workforce in West Virginia,” said Senator Manchin. “These treatment, workforce development and mentorship programs will be instrumental in facilitating full recovery for individuals who have overcome substance abuse challenges. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding to combat the drug epidemic and ensure our communities across the Mountain State are able to thrive.”
Individual awards listed below:
- $500,000 – Williamson Health and Wellness Center, Williamson
- This funding will support the New Heights Recovery Continuum workforce training.
- $500,000 – Region 4 Planning and Development Council, Summersville
- This funding will support Therapeutic Landscapes, Aquaculture, and Workforce Development Opportunities.
- $499,999 – Libera, Inc, Morgantown
- This funding will support the expansion of Libera Mentorship Program for at-risk young women in West Virginia.
- $499,949 – Marshall University Research Corporation, Huntington
- This funding will support the career and technical program, LevelUP.
- $493,592 – Rural Appalachian Improvement League, Mullens
- This funding will support the Remote Readiness Resource Network workforce training program.
- $485,598 – Randolph County Housing Authority, Elkins
- This funding will support the Cultivating Recovery Employment and Training Education (CREATE) program.
- $480,890 – The REACH Initiative, Charleston
- This funding will support the West Virginia’s REACHback Recovery Reentry Navigator Program.
