Manchin Announces $731k From Appalachian Regional Commission For Eight West Virginia Projects

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $731,738 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for eight West Virginia projects. The funding will support increasing staffing and strengthening administrative capacities for eight Local Development Districts (LDDs) across the state.

“The Appalachian Regional Commission’s continued investment in revitalizing and strengthening Appalachia is great news for West Virginia and the entire region. The funding announced today will help increase staffing and bolster administrative capabilities for eight local districts across our great state,” said Senator Manchin. “I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of these projects and, as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for resources to boost economic growth across Appalachia.”

  • $110,967 – Region 2: Planning & Development Council
    • This LDD serves Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, Mingo, and Wayne Counties.
  • $110,863 – Region 1: Planning & Development Council
    • This LDD serves McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming Counties.
  • $110,242 – Region 6: Planning & Development Council
    • This LDD serves Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor Counties.
  • $100,926 – Region 3: BCKP Regional Intergovernmental Council
    • This LDD serves Boone, Clay, Kanawha, and Putnam Counties.
  • $82,190 – Region 8: Planning & Development Council
    • This LDD serves Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral, and Pendleton Counties. 
  • $76,807 – Region 9: Eastern Panhandle Planning & Development Council
    • This LDD serves Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan Counties. 
  • $74,219 – Region 10: Belomar Regional Council
    • This LDD serves Marshall, Ohio, and Wetzel Counties.
  • $65,524 – Region 11: BHJ Metropolitan Planning Commission
    • This LDD serves Brooke and Hancock Counties.
