Manchin Announces $768.8k For Eight Rural Development Projects In West Virginia

Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $768,842 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program for eight projects across West Virginia. The funding will support developing renewable energy systems for West Virginia farmers, ranchers, and rural small businesses as well as purchasing and installing various solar arrays across the state.

“Investing in our communities is essential for economic development and for creating good-paying jobs,” said Senator Manchin. “I am pleased USDA is investing more than $768K in these eight projects across West Virginia, which include purchasing and installing solar arrays and developing renewable energy systems for farmers, ranchers, and rural small business owners. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue working to ensure our rural communities across the Mountain State have the resources they need to thrive.”

Individual awards listed below:

  • $349,398 – Moses Automotive INC, Cabell County
    • This funding will help farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses in Cabell County develop renewable energy systems.
  • $126,000 – Three Spring Industrial Park LLC, Hancock County
    • This funding will be used to purchase and install a 288 kilowatts (kW) solar array.
  • $90,770 – AllPro LLC, Marion Country
    • This funding will help farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses in Marion County develop renewable energy systems.
  • $86,890 – Valley Scenic View LLC, Tucker County
    • This funding will be used to purchase and install a 72.27 kilowatt (kW) solar array.
  • $64,204 – Conrad Farms, Pendleton County
    • This funding will assist farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses in Pendleton County develop renewable energy systems.
  • $21,273 – Terra Petra Farm, Preston County
    • This funding will be used to purchase and install a 14 kilowatt (kW) solar array.
  • $15,276 – Nieman’s Rocky Lanes Farm, Preston County
    • This funding will be used to purchase and install a 13 kilowatt (kW) solar array.
  • $15,031 – Old Fields Storage LLC, Hardy County
    • This funding will be used to purchase and install a nine kilowatt (kW) solar array.
