Manchin Holds First 'Coffee and Common Sense' Event in Follansbee

Washington, D.C. — On the heels of his “Call for Common Sense” tour, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today held his first “Coffee and Common Sense” event in Follansbee. Dozens of members of the community came out for the inaugural event at Ariana’s Restaurant to share their concerns, priorities and commonsense ideas. Sen. Manchin will hold numerous “Coffee and Common Sense” events in towns all over the state over the course of his first term.

“Meeting with my fellow West Virginians is such a privilege. I am so thankful to the great people of Follansbee for taking time on a Saturday morning to discuss their commonsense ideas and the issues that matter to them,” Manchin said.

“Not surprisingly, there was great coffee and even better conversation at today’s event, and I look forward to holding these meetings all across the state. We talked about the challenges facing the manufacturing industry and how we can create more jobs. Talking with West Virginians will help me to develop true commonsense solutions, and I hope all West Virginians will join me so we can discuss how to take this country in a better and stronger direction.”
