Manchin Statement On Passing Of Wood County Delegate Frank Deem

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) released the following statement following the passing of Wood County Delegate Frank Deem.

“Wood County and all of West Virginia are better off because of the longtime service of Delegate Frank Deem. Frank’s time in the Navy greatly shaped him and he was a war horse with one of the strongest moral compasses I have ever known. Frank didn’t care about whether you were a Democrat or a Republican. If something was right, it was right. If it was wrong, it was wrong. When Frank agreed with you he’d be your greatest supporter. But if he disagreed with you he’d sure let you know. I’ve known few other friends and public servants who have so fiercely represented the people they were elected to serve. We don’t come across men like Frank Deem that often anymore. Gayle and I send our hearts out to Becky and the entire Deem family.”
