Manchin Statement on the Passing of Helen Holt

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today issued the following statement on the passing of former West Virginia Secretary of State Helen Holt.

“Gayle and I join all West Virginians today in mourning the loss of our state’s first female Secretary of State, Helen Holt. West Virginia has been fortunate to have had Helen’s leadership and that of her entire family. She was a significant force, and her unwavering dedication made West Virginia a better place. Although she will be dearly missed, I am certain that her spirit of love and commitment will inspire all of us now and into the future. We extend our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the members of the Holt family at this difficult time.”
