Manchin Votes to Confirm Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the United Nations
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) released the following statement on his vote to confirm Governor Nikki Haley as the Ambassador to the United Nations.
“Today I voted to confirm Governor Nikki Haley as the Ambassador to the United Nations. Governor Haley met all of her ethics disclosure requirements and I am proud to support her nomination. I believe that Governor Haley has the poise and leadership needed to represent the United States as Ambassador to the United Nations and will provide the President with objective advice and wise counsel on our nation’s foreign policy. As a former Governor, I understand how crucial it is for an executive leader to have his team in place to conduct our nation’s foreign affairs as soon as possible and I look forward to working with her in a bipartisan manner to continue to work in the best interest of all West Virginians and Americans.”
