Saturday: Manchin Launches Coffee and Common Sense

Washington, D.C. — Following his successful “Call for Common Sense” tour, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) will join constituents Saturday in Follansbee for his first “Coffee and Common Sense with Senator Joe” event, an ongoing series of open conversations with constituents during which he hopes to hear more ideas, concerns and priorities from West Virginians. In keeping with Senator Manchin’s philosophy of retail government, the Senator will hold numerous “Coffee and Common Sense with Senator Joe” events in towns all around the state over the course of his first term.

“My philosophy is that if you’re elected to represent people, you should spend as much time with them as possible and talk to them one-on-one about their ideas and concerns,” Manchin said. “West Virginians responded so enthusiastically to my ‘Call for Common Sense’ tour that I want to continue what we started. I’m asking you, the citizens of the state I am so honored to serve, to stay involved. I want to hear your commonsense ideas and priorities, and what you think needs to happen in Washington. I hope you will join me when I am in your community for some coffee and conversation about how we can take this country in the right direction.”
